READ | STATEMENT CONDEMNING THE KILLING OF DR. MARIVIC VICENTA TELLO OF COTABATO REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER (CRMC)

The Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission (BHRC) condemns the killing of Dr. Marivic Vicenta Tello. The killing deserves the highest level of condemnation as the victim is a medical practitioner.

This heinous act goes against the principles of humanity and respect for life. Medical Practitioners play a vital role in society, dedicating themselves to save lives, alleviating suffering, and promoting health and well-being. Their commitment to the welfare of others deserves admiration and protection.

Any act of violence against a medical professional not only robs society of a valuable caregiver but also undermines the trust and safety of healthcare environments.

With its mandate to protect, promote, and fulfill the human rights of every individual in the Bangsamoro Region, BHRC calls on the authorities to conduct a prompt, effective and impartial investigation on the case. And likewise, we strongly call the Management of the Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC) and its personnel to cooperate with the authorities in order to bring JUSTICE to Dr. Tello.

The Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission (BHRC) extends its condolences to the victim’s family and love ones and calls for justice to be served, in the name of human rights.
