Rajab 5, 1444 AH / January 27, 2023 – In support of the celebration of the 4th Bangsamoro Foundation Day, the Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission (BHRC) rendered legal services on January 26, 2023, in a program entitled: “Libreng Serbisyong Legal Para sa Bangsamoro,” along with other ministries, agencies, and offices, at the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) Quadrangle, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City.

As a joint activity by its Special Geographic Area in North Cotabato and Cotabato City Office and its Maguindanao del Norte Provincial Office, around three hundred eleven (311) clients with varying legal concerns benefitted from the said program as conducted by the BHRC along with its partners.

These services included legal advice, legal consultation, notarial services of non-lucrative legal documents such as, but not limited to, Affidavits, Jurat, Certificates, Personal Data Sheet (PDS), Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Networth (SALN), and others.

Being a member of the Peace, Public Order, Safety and Security (PPOSS) Committee, a committee composed of different Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) ministries, agencies, and/or offices organized based on their membership in the Bangsamoro Economic Development Council (BEDC) committees, the BHRC spearheaded the conduct of different legal services during the said date.

The legal assistance program was conducted in partnership with the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Bangsamoro Shariah Lawyers League of the Philippines, Inc. (BSLLPI), Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and other BARMM ministries, agencies, and/or offices under the PPOSS Committee.

The 4th Bangsamoro Foundation Day, themed “𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮-𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗴𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗮 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗽𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼,” commenced on the 21st of January 2023 and is to conclude on the 27th day.

As part of its mandate of protecting human rights, the BHRC remains steadfast in extending legal assistance to the Bangsamoro people.
