BHRC CONDUCTS HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION AT SIRAWAN, DAVAO CITY
Davao City, May 25, 2023 – As part of the weeklong activity entitled: “Human Rights Education, Detention Facility Monitoring, and Legal Mission Outside BARMM,” the Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission (BHRC) successfully conducted human rights education at Barangay Sirawan, Toril District, Davao City.
Led by the BHRC’s Promotion Division, in partnership with the Office for Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC), the event benefitted approximately ninety (90) participants.
During his message, BHRC Chairperson Atty. Abdul Rashid P. Kalim emphasized the Commission’s unwavering commitment to extending its presence beyond the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). He reiterated the BHRC’s dedication to responding to the call for human rights wherever it resonates.
On the same day, the BHRC’s Protection Division conducted facility monitoring and provided legal assistance at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Davao City.
