Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission (BHRC) recently held its 2nd Management Committee Meeting for the Fiscal Year 2023 from August 4-7, 2023. The meeting was attended by the Honorable Chairperson Atty. Abdul Rashid P. Kalim, Commissioner Archie U. Buaya, MPA, Commissioner Atty Dayang-Dayang J. Baguinda-Dambong, Provincial Directors, Division Heads, and Focal persons of the Commission.

During the 2nd Management Committee Meeting, each Provincial Director, Division Head, and Focal Person presented their respective physical and financial accomplishments for the 2nd quarter of FY 2023. The presentations covered a wide range of issues, including the Commissionโ€™s efforts to human rights investigation, legal assistance services, human rights education and awareness campaigns and coordination with other government agencies and civil society organizations.

The meeting serves as an avenue for the BHRC to assess its performance, to identify areas for improvement and to address all the challenges that encountered by the Commission during the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 2023. The presentations highlighted the Commissionโ€™s achievements, including the successful provision of financial and legal assistance to the victims of human rights violations and abuses, the conduct of various human rights education and awareness campaigns inside and outside of the Region and the partnerships it has established with other government agencies and civil society organizations which are essential to strengthening the human rights agenda in the Bangsamoro Region.
