The ongoing writeshop serves as a platform for both Commissions to come together, exchange ideas, and discuss the practical and legal aspects of their cooperation. It will provide an opportunity for both parties to articulate their reservations, aspirations, and shared goals in order to advance the rights of all individuals in the Philippines.

In his opening remarks, BHRC Chairperson Atty. Abdul Rashid P. Kalim, emphasized the significance of this activity in strengthening the partnership between BHRC and CHR in promoting and protecting human rights. Atty. Kalim also expressed his gratitude to the CHR for this initiative to collaborately work on the development of the MoA.

CHR Commissioner Atty. Faydah M. Dumarpa also expressed her appreciation to BHRC for its dedication in advocating human rights. According to her, this writeshop is a collective pursuit and commitment of fundamental principles of human rights. Atty. Dumarpa also encouraged everyone to seek common ground that will benefit the organizations as well as the community that we serve.

It is expected that the two parties will come up to a comprehensive and mutually beneficial MoA, outlining the framework for their cooperation and coordination to ensure that nobody is left behind in so far as human rights are concern.
