On October 16, 2024, the Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission (BHRC) welcomed UNICEF partners, spearheaded by UNICEF Chief of Mindanao Field Office Andreas Wuesternberg, to a meaningful meeting at the BHRC Regional Conference room. The discussion focused on the positive and continuous relationship between BHRC and UNICEF, particularly in addressing children’s rights cases in the Bangsamoro region. Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to protecting and promoting the welfare of the Bangsamoro children, ensuring their rights to safety, education, and health are upheld.

The meeting also served as a preparatory session for the upcoming BHRC, UNICEF, and Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) Coordination Meeting scheduled on October 22, 2024. This important gathering will further strengthen collaboration among these key organizations as they work together to develop effective strategies, policies, and programs that directly address the challenges faced by children in BARMM.

The BHRC looks forward to the continued partnership and shared initiatives that will pave the way for a safer and more nurturing environment for all Bangsamoro children. Together, we are building a brighter future for the next generation.
